Natural resources

Agricultural Resources: The economy of Noakhali Sadar Upazila is mainly dependent on agriculture. Its soil, climate and water are suitable for the production of various crops. Most of the households in this upazila are involved in crop production in one way or another. Paddy, soybean, jute, chilli, mustard, potato, almond and sugarcane are the main crops of this upazila. Extensive cultivation of betel and coconut can also be noticed in Sonaimuri upazila. There are also plenty of fruit trees. Mango, blackberry, jackfruit, banana, papaya, guava, lemon, bell and mango are the main local fruits.

Animal Resources: Noakhali Sadar Upazila has ample opportunities for self-employment through cattle rearing. There are poultry farms and livestock farms here

Fisheries Resources   : Noakhali Sadar Upazila is diverse in terms of fish. There is a fish festival in this upazila. Fishing is one of the main economic activities of the people. Abundance of shrimp, mourala, putti, kholse, bain and chela fish and freshwater fish such as: rui, mrigel, ayr, tengra, magur, singh, koi, pabda etc. which make Noakhali known differently.
